Rehearals

Please review the rehearsal calendar carefully and ensure you are available for all scheduled rehearsals. Regular attendance is essential to the success of the production.

Rehearsals from September through December will be held in Sherwood Park. January rehearsals may take place in Sherwood Park, Fort Saskatchewan, or Edmonton, depending on the production schedule. All performances will be held in Fort Saskatchewan.

Audition Information

Date: Wednesday, September 9, 2026

Location: Strathcona County Hall (2001 Sherwood Drive, Sherwood Park - Basement Meeting Room L3)

Actors aged 10-14 are invited to sign up and attend the group audition on Wednesday, September 9th at 5:30 pm. If they are unable to attend that audition they may submit an online audition (see online audition information tab).

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for enthusiastic, energetic performers who are ready to play and try new things! We want to see strong listening skills, the ability to take direction, and a willingness to show big character and expression through singing, acting, and dancing.

What To Prepare

To prepare for the group audition, please review the audition materials linked below.

You do not need to memorize the songs or audition scenes (sides). However, please read through them and practice so you're comfortable with the material. During the audition, we may ask you to read a different scene, sing a different vocal part, or try a different character.

Please learn the dance in advance and come ready to perform it. We'll review it together as a group, and if time allows, we may teach some additional choreography.

Actors required for call backs will be contacted on Friday Evening and must be available to attend the call back in person. Any information regarding what to prepare will be sent at that time.

Any artist unable to audition in-person may choose to submit a video audition. Please note that Video Auditions will be accepted via a single YouTube link only (please do not submit multiple links). To submit for a video audition, please complete the Online Audition Form and connect your youtube link on the form.

Before recording your audition, please review the Audition tab that matches your age group for details on what you need to prepare, as well as all audition materials. Please ensure your video includes all required components outlined for your age group.

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for expressive, authentic storytellers who bring strong character commitment to both their vocal and acting performances. Show us your personality, clear connection to the text, and an ability to take redirection in the room.

What To Prepare

To prepare for the audition, please review the audition materials linked below.

Acting: Prepare and memorize the side for the role you would like to audition for. We will only have time for each actor to perform one side.

Singing: Prepare and memorize the song excerpt for the role you would like to audition for.

Fiddler Audition Only: Prepare the audition selection for the fiddler. If you would like to be considered for other roles, please also prepare a side and vocal part for that role.

Dance Call

We ask that all actors who complete the in-person individual audition also sign up to attend one of our Dance Calls happening every night (Wednesday- Friday) from 9pm - 10pm. You can sign up for the Dance Call when filling out the audition form.

For this dance call, we’re focusing on expression and mobility. While clean execution of the choreography is important, what we’re really looking for is storytelling through movement. Show us character, energy, and heart!

Please learn the choreography in the video before your audition. The dance is set to "Wedding Dance" from the 2016 Broadway Cast Recording, with the choreography beginning at 1:02 in the song. We'll do a quick review of the choreography during the in-person dance audition, but you should arrive familiar with the routine. You will also learn a short additional section of choreography during the audition.
